Connect your application and manage keys
Server keys are write-only and environment-scoped. Store them only on your server. Never put them in a website bundle.
Copy a new key now: it is shown once. Rotating means creating a new key, updating your application, then revoking the old key.
Send your first span
Use the TypeScript SDK from this repository, or send metadata with this API example. Replace the key and generate new trace/span IDs for each operation.
Only static operation names and safe identifiers belong in metadata. Do not use email addresses, prompts, arguments, outputs, or exception messages as names.
Received traces
Metrics cover the received, filtered spans only, not all application traffic. No business outcome is inferred from span status. Payload capture is disabled; telemetry expires after seven days.
